Faculty/Staff Reserved Parking Request Form

Beginning in August 2007, the University of Alabama will offer a campus wide transit system. Because of operational requirements, the implementation of the will require the removal of approximately 339 faculty and staff parking spaces on campus. The majority of these spaces are located in the core of campus. On street parking will be removed from 2nd and 4th Streets, 6th, 7th, and 9th Avenues, Stadium Drive, Hackberry Lane, and University Boulevard (on campus). There will also be a partial removal of parking spaces from Capstone Drive, with the lane directly behind the Gorgas Library becoming a transit only lane. (View a map of the affected areas.)

Because of the reduction of faculty/staff parking in this area, we are offering additional reserved parking. To coincide with the implementation of the transit system, we will be converting the South Ferguson time limit parking lot located off of 7th Avenue between the Ferguson Center and Woods Hall to a gated reserved parking lot. As in years past, we will also offer reserved parking in the South ten Hoor deck located on Stadium Drive directly across from the Bruno Business Library. (View a map of these lots.)

Faculty and Staff who wish to be considered for a reserved parking space in the South Ferguson Lot or the South ten Hoor Deck for the 2007-2008 academic school year must complete the linked form in its entirety and submit the form electronically (ONLY) to Transportation Services.

Supervisors will need to assist employees without computer access with this process or the employee may come to the Parking Services Office located at 103 Student Services Center for assistance.

There are a limited number of spaces available in the reserved areas. For those wishing to participate, the lot/deck will be filled from the returned email requests. If we receive more email requests than available spaces in the lot/deck, a random drawing will be held at a later time. A wait list will be created from the remaining names drawn. You will be notified by email of your status in the lot/deck. NO forms will be accepted over the counter or by phone. The cost of the reserved permit is $310 and will be payroll deducted over five equal monthly payments ($62.00/mo.) or a one time payment option. Forms must be submitted back no later than midnight MARCH 30, 2007.

Information concerning the remaining reserved lots (Rose Administration, South Rose Administration, and Communication Card) will be forthcoming.
